Now that this video is done, I have realized I've learned a lot about Premiere Pro and the video making process. It takes alot of time, effort, and communication to get things done. What I am most proud of is the picture of the cell phone that we manipulated to say "Parent Alert! Is Your Child Sexting?" I never knew you could get a picture and edit it to make the edit look like that's the way it was supposed to be. It was fun to learn, and I think it looked good in the video.
I'm very glad people were able to comment on the videos. It was really helpful when classmates gave specifics about what could be changed or fixed. It was also reassuring when classmates gave comments about what they liked; it helped me feel better about the overall video, and look more at what was good instead of what went wrong or what we didn't finish.
In the final draft we took out a clip in the beginning, and we really tried to fix the audio. I think we made alot of progress on the audio in the final draft compared to the rough draft. The toughest part was when we took out the clip in the beginning because it really messed up the audio of people talking. We had to re-match up all the clips, and move around the titles because we lost a couple seconds from the deleted clip.
If we had another day or two, I would probably fix the credits. They aren't in the right format, and some things aren't cited the correct way, so I would definitely change that.
If I had the chance to do the video differently, I would. I think I would take a whole different approach in the way we filmed things. Especially with students, I think I wouldn't have interviewed them outside. Also, certain camera shots were off during the interviews. Sometimes the camera wasn't at a comfortable distance, and the angle is somewhat uncomfortable. I would also manage time differently to make it easier on myself and other group members.
I discovered that making videos is not easy, and it is not quick. It is a very time consuming thing, and now I understand why it takes years for movies to be made because everything has to be perfect. I also realized it's very important to communicate with group members, not just during this project, but for any group activity.
Overall, I think the project came out pretty decent. It was definitely a fun process, just very time consuming.
