This is an example of an overlay edit. An overlay edit places a clip on top of an original clip while the original clip is still playing. The inserted clip does not effect time in the original clip. To do this, you edit the clip in the source panel. Then you drag the edited clip to the timeline where you want to place it. I decided to edit the 2nd clip where I did because you see the lady is paying attention right after the first jump, then goes back to the horse jumping a second time.



The difference between an overlay and an insert edit is for an insert edit, when you place a clip in the timeline with an original clip, time in the original clip stops and cuts to the inserted clip,then picks up where it left off. This type of edit interrupts time. You would use an overlay edit when you want to keep time realistically going, while you’d use an insert edit when you don't want, or need continuous time. In this case the overlay edit works better because the lady in the second clip is watching a continuous action.

About the product:
I think our video came out fairly decently. The only thing that wasn't correct was the format of the video. The video shows up on YouTube with a very tiny screen, when it was supposed to be alot bigger. A couple things that could have been fixed were the title screens. All of the title screens, especially the first one, could have and should have been a lot shorter. Also, some of the clips themselves should have been cut a little more than they are. The in-point for the first clip was off by a couple of frames. The thrid clip about the staff members should have been cut off at the end, and the in-point was not very clean to start with. The last clip after our sports programs also had a pretty rough in-point. The first clip about our enviroment was a little long and could also be cut off at the end.

About the process:
Both me and my partner worked together when we had to choose which clips to use. After we had about 10 to choose from, we watched them and then agreed on which ones were the best. During the editing process we would help each other out when one of use didnt know what to do, or if we didnt know which step was next. One thing that happened more than once while using Premiere Pro was that we would drag the edited clip from the soruce panel into the timeline, and the audio wouldnt be there. Eventually, my partner figured out the problem and we were able to fix it.
